Gentle, dreamy, and effortlessly graceful — this Baby Pink Cotton Dhakai Jamdani Saree from Aananda Collections is a soft celebration of Bengal's finest handloom tradition. Where the ancient art of Jamdani weaving meets the most tender of palettes, the result is a saree that feels as light and lovely as the colour it carries.

Colour & Design: Soft baby pink Cotton Dhakai Jamdani forms a fresh, feminine canvas adorned with delicate floral butas woven across the body — each motif placed individually by hand in the traditional Jamdani technique, giving the surface a subtle texture and depth that no machine-made print can replicate. A crisp white karat border frames the saree with a clean, elegant contrast that enhances the softness of the pink without overpowering it. Simple, beautiful, and perfectly balanced.

Fabric: Blended Cotton — lightweight, breathable, and comfortable for all-day wear, with the characteristic subtle sheen of Dhakai Jamdani weaving.

Blouse: Separate 1 metre running blouse piece included.

Size: 5.5 metres approx. + 1 metre blouse piece | Width: 46 inches

Occasion: Festive gatherings, pujas, cultural celebrations, casual outings, and every occasion where soft, delicate elegance speaks for itself.

Wash Care: Dry clean only.

Pre-stitching: Available at an additional cost of ₹1,700. Please provide your waist, hip, and desired saree length measurements.

Note: Colour may slightly vary from images due to photographic lighting and monitor settings.

Saree Chronicle

Jamdani is one of the finest and most celebrated handloom traditions of the Indian subcontinent, originating in the region around Dhaka (in present-day Bangladesh) and recognised by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2013. The word "Jamdani" is believed to derive from the Persian words "jam" (flower) and "dani" (vase or container), reflecting the floral motifs that are the hallmark of the tradition. Jamdani weaving is distinguished by its use of the discontinuous supplementary weft technique — a process where additional threads are individually woven into the base fabric by hand, one motif at a time, using a fine bamboo stick or needle. Unlike embroidery, where thread is applied to the surface of a finished fabric, Jamdani motifs are woven directly into the structure of the cloth, making them an integral part of the fabric itself. The Cotton Dhakai Jamdani — woven from fine blended cotton rather than silk — is particularly prized for its featherlight breathability and the subtle, natural sheen that the fine cotton threads acquire through the weaving process. It is a fabric that moves beautifully, drapes with ease, and feels cool and comfortable against the skin — making it as well-suited to a festive puja as to a relaxed cultural gathering. The karat border — a characteristic feature of Dhakai Jamdani sarees — is woven in a contrasting colour to the body, creating the clean colour contrast that gives these sarees their distinctive, graphic elegance. The baby pink and white palette of this saree draws on a long tradition of using soft, natural colours in Indian handloom — colours that speak of morning light, fresh flowers, and the quiet beauty of everyday grace. This Baby Pink Cotton Dhakai Jamdani Saree is a gentle, luminous expression of one of the subcontinent's most enduring and celebrated weaving traditions.
