Saree Chronicle
Saree Chronicle
Ikkat is one of India's most celebrated weaving traditions, renowned for its intricate patterns created by resist-dyeing the yarn before weaving. Practised across Odisha, Telangana, and Gujarat, this labour-intensive craft requires remarkable precision, as each dyed thread must align perfectly on the loom to form distinctive motifs such as diamonds, florals, scrolls, and paisleys. Combined with the richness of pure silk and the grandeur of a Kanchipuram-style zari border, this saree is a beautiful expression of India's enduring textile heritage.
